Patty helped found the Purls of Joy cooperative in 2022. She spends time at the shop, provides organization to our organization, and dabbles in whatever is needed (finances, running meetings, etc.) You can find her at the shop every Sunday.
Patty learned to knit in the 1990's during the scarf-craze! For many years, Patty's mother-in-law knit beanies for babies in need; this was what Patty knew about knitting. Suddenly everyone was making scarves, so with her mother-in-law's help and inspiration, Patty conquered this new craze.
Patty's most memorable project is her current one: a Sophie's hood, a combo of hood and scarf, that Patty is modelling in her picture. The one she is currently working on is for a dear friend who could use some warmth. Patty's attitude about knitting reflects her attitude about life: apply more forgiveness and less perfection.
One day, Patty would like to make a sweater. Sweaters take both skill and time. When Patty starts something, she finishes it. So jumping into such a large project can be daunting, but she will do it one day.
